FEATURES: Panoramic views of the mountains and canyons to the southwest. Access to a ruin site and views of another ruin in the canyon below. Also a rare find-- an Anastazi ladder; it is the only one I know of in the area.
LEVEL: Moderate
HIKING TIME: One way it is approximately 45 minutes to one hour to the last ruin.
DRIVING TIME FROM SEDONA: About twenty minutes from the
City limits.
DESCRIPTION. This trail is not an official Forest Service path and is difficult to navigate without directions. It climbs to the rim of a canyon and through a forest of trees and then provides views galore. There is access to an Indian ruin. Near the end of the canyon overlook there is an Anastazi ladder and a view of another ruin below. Just a tip-- I find when climbing to the top of these mesas that a walking stick is a great knee saver and an useful aid in keeping one's balance.
