FEATURES: A loop hike. Arches and panoramic views of the mountains and canyons to the southwest. Unusual rock formations. LEVEL: moderate-difficult (due to time). HIKING TIME: Approximately four hours round trip.
DRIVING TIME FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 89A AND SR 179: About ten minutes.
DESCRIPTION: This hike employs part of an
official Forest Service and several "social" trails.
This route crosses over rolling hills through juniper and cypress and then marches up the face of a mesa. On the way back it slips off the main trail, passes an arch, and follows a narrow route that snakes back to the starting point.
