FEATURES: One of a very few loop hikes. Arches and panoramic views of the mountains and canyons to the southwest. Unusual rock formations. LEVEL: moderate-difficult (only due to time)
HIKING TIME: Approximately 4.5 hours round trip.
DRIVING TIME FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 89A AND SR 179: About ten minutes.
DESCRIPTION: This hike begins on an official Forest Service trail for a short distance, then it follows a "local's trail" up the face of a mesa where it visits a trio of arches. Then it diverts to a little known trail that snakes up onto the mesa. Once on top there are views everywhere. The trail continues across the mesa and then loops over
the other side where vistas pop up all the way down. It meanders through hill and dale, filled with trees of every variety, until it completes the circle at the starting point.
